Building AshuTech: Why I Started My Own Technology Brand at 18

Most developers build things. Few of them own what they build. I had been writing Android apps, automation scripts, and web tools for months — useful things, real projects that solved real problems. But they existed in isolation: GitHub repositories with no story, no face, no brand behind them. That changed when I decided to build AshuTech. ## Why a Brand? A portfolio without a brand is a list of files. A brand turns scattered work into a coherent identity. I wanted anyone who found my GitHub, my LinkedIn, or stumbled on Kavach Connector to immediately understand: **this was built by Ashu Anand, founder of AshuTech — a developer who builds Android apps, web platforms, and automation tools in India.** One clear statement. It is a **technology identity** — a consistent name, design system, and set of values that I apply to everything I build. The values are simple: - **Real problems first.** I build things that solve actual friction, not things that look impressive in demos. - **Honest engineering.** If something will take 3 weeks, I say 3 weeks. Scope inflation kills projects. - **Direct access.** When you work with AshuTech, you work directly with me — not a team of contractors or an outsourced project manager. ## The Website Building [ashutech.xyz](https://www.ashutech.xyz) was itself an engineering exercise. I chose **Next.js 16 App Router** with React 19 for the site — not because it's trendy, but because static site generation gives me full control over SEO, metadata, and structured data. The site preloads in under 1 second, scores 99+ on Lighthouse performance, and has complete JSON-LD entity markup linking Ashu Anand → AshuTech → Kavach Connector as a connected knowledge graph. Every technical decision had a reason: - **Framer Motion + GSAP** for animations that feel premium without JavaScript bloat - **Vanilla CSS design system** instead of Tailwind — full control, zero purge complexity - **Dynamic sitemap.ts** — so new blog posts are automatically indexed without manual submissions ## What Comes Next AshuTech is growing with me.
